This past Friday night I met up with Tara Pivotto from Pivotal Images (Janesville, WI) at Beckman Mill in Beloit. This is a location I have been dying to explore after hearing so many good things about it. I also had been planning to get together with Tara to shoot for fun.  I recently bought a new 35mm lens and Tara rented 3 different lenses for the weekend to decide which two she wanted to buy. We worked with two models and everything came together really nicely.

Here are some images I got working with Kelly (who also happens to be my beautiful sister!)

I met Jennifer almost 9 years ago in one of my freshman gen ed courses at UW-Whitewater. We became fast friends and if there is one thing I remember about her in college is that she always had a camera with her. Jenny is the one who introduced me to the digital SLR and I “blame” her for me getting bit by the photography bug. I loved playing with her Canon Rebel whenever it wasn’t glued to her hand. A few years later, when I got engaged to my husband, Jennifer took our engagement photos. So needless to say when she announced her engagement to Stephen recently, I insisted I return the favor.

I drove white knuckled through downtown Milwaukee to meet her and Steve last night. They were nice enough to chauffeur me around the city. We went to the Iron Horse hotel and then a beautiful bay at sunset.  What a perfect setting for engagement photos!
