One “problem” I always run into when I’m photographing extended families is finding a clear way to address the “original kids,” as I have begun to call them, when I am organizing the group for different photos. There is no word that sums up “grown up kids.” If I call them “the parents” they get confused with their parents. If I call them “the kids,” they get confused with the actual children. Maybe I should just say grandparents, parents, and children? Ha! Well, in any case, I do enjoy the dynamics of an extended family shoot. All the kids (children) were having a good time playing. Everyone had come together for a long weekend and to celebrate the grandparents’ anniversary.
