Eric and I have been working so hard on fixing up my new studio. Okay, that’s only half true… Eric has been doing most of the work! In fact, he has spent the past two nights building a wall, installing flooring and trim. Don’t worry, he had help 😉 There is still so much more work to be done, more flooring & trim being the biggest projects to do, but it’s functional. It’s just not as pretty as I want it yet. It was just a boring office before, so we’re switching things up quite a bit so it reflects my style. The first thing I did was paint over the gray walls. I love shooting outdoors, so I’m using colors and textures from nature to bring some of that essence into my studio. One of my favorite features so far is the wood wall. I stained it the other night and it looks amazing! I’ll make sure to do a big reveal of the whole place when it’s done.
Even though my place is under construction, so to speak, I’ve already gotten to put it to good use. A few weeks ago, Mike came by for some new headshots. I brought out the strip soft box for a more dramatic effect. I haven’t used them in forever and I forgot how much I like this light modifier. It’s like shooting next to a narrow window. I just love how these turned out; doesn’t he look great?
If you need to update your headshots and want something a little less traditional, with a little more personality, I still have a few openings in February. It’s the perfect time to update your LinkedIn, Facebook or dating profile. Never underestimate the power of an awesome headshot!
