After we got off the phone this morning, I looked outside and saw the amazing weather and I knew… today was the perfect day to turn my little honorary niece into Queen Elsa. We had just talked about doing a Frozen themed photo shoot of Grace, but coordinating our schedules in the near future was going to be tricky. I immediately texted your husband and asked him if we could make it happen today, while you were out of the house. Oh how sneaky I am…
So this afternoon, unbeknownst to you, I went to your house and gave Grace a makeover. I french braided her hair and did my best to do her makeup just like Elsa’s. And do you know what she did? She lit up! She danced around the house and asked me, “did you know I just got super powers? I felt it!” Yes. She. Did. She looked in the mirror and started singing, “Let it go, let it go!”
Scott and I loaded up all the kids and we went to the state park to find the perfect snowy spot. Grace shivered for a minute (it hit 40 degrees while we were there), then exclaimed “I feel warm now!” and broke into a series of Queen Elsa poses that were so amazing and full of imagination, that I couldn’t help but laugh. She was dancing and pretending to magically throw snow and ice. Again, she belted her favorite lines from the movie soundtrack.
So if you are reading this, Heather, you know why Scott kept ignoring your calls this afternoon. He didn’t want you to hear my voice in the background or you would have figured it out! I hope you and Grace love these. I edited them with her in mind, rather than my usual style, to try to capture some of that imagination that makes her such a joy to be around. And tell Grace I said, “you ARE Queen Elsa!”
