Why hello there! I haven’t blogged since I was in my 20s!! Yep, I am now thirty years old (my birthday was at the end of November). I was pretty busy in the weeks leading up to Christmas, and then I spent several weeks after the holidays playing catch up at home. The fall season left my poor house in shambles. Now I am getting back into the swing of things with some newborn and headshot sessions on the calendar, and I’ll be working my tail off on another major project (more on that below) over the next month or two. My goal is to blog regularly again… we’ll see how I do!
This is the first image in a series I took of Matthew yesterday during a very, VERY, quick photo shoot in my front yard to commemorate him turning one month older. My baby is now thirteen months old, cruising around furniture, pointing at things he wants (this week he pointed at the fridge when he wanted milk, I was impressed!) and growling. Yes, he growls. After he growls, he laughs, because it’s so funny to him! I find myself laughing, too. Even a few strangers in Target chuckled at his enthusiastic growling during a recent shopping trip. Oh, my little man…
Today, I am taking a huge step in my business. I am moving my studio out of my house and into a retail space at Colonial Village in Rockford. (Think Heartland Church.) I am so, so excited for this awesome opportunity. Right now, the space looks like an office (as in… blah!), but over the next few months, I hope to transform it into a gorgeous space that reflects my style and makes my clients feel extra comfy. With all the extra space, I will also be able to photograph families and seniors in studio much more easily!
Another little piece of news is that I am getting a new logo! The design work was done by The Constant Scribe, and now Lauren Davis is putting on the finishing touches and getting it ready for me to use in all sorts of media. I can’t wait to show it to you, it’s so pretty.
If you are wanting to get some snow pictures done of your kids, email me to set up a short session. I love snow pictures so much. I’m taking Micah out this weekend for his turn: I just need to go shopping for the perfect hat and sweater. It makes all the difference!
Have a great weekend!
