John & Callie {Rockford, IL – Chicago, IL Engagement Photographer}

October 18th, 2011

John loves America, Chicago, football & Callie, and not in that order Ok, I’m sure he loves other things, too, but those were pretty evident. Callie is a gorgeous gal who is from my hometown. She is also a football fan. The funny thing is they cheer for rival teams, and we rescheduled their engagement [...]

John loves America, Chicago, football & Callie, and not in that order :) Ok, I’m sure he loves other things, too, but those were pretty evident. Callie is a gorgeous gal who is from my hometown. She is also a football fan. The funny thing is they cheer for rival teams, and we rescheduled their engagement session when it ended up being on game day. Oops! They are a cute couple and I am super thrilled to be photographing their wedding next summer! We had a great time walking around the city of Chicago for their engagement session.

Scott & Katelyn {Rockford, IL Engagement Photographer}

October 7th, 2011

Scott and Katelyn go to my alma mater, so they are automatically cool in my book! Well that and they are clearly in love and so cute together. Katelyn kind of looks like Natalie from the Dixie Chicks, I think… I told her so, and then I accidentally called her Natalie two seconds later. I’m [...]

Then during the elevator shot, someone downstairs pushed the call button. I had to awkwardly wait for them while they went down and back up seven floors. I am still laughing thinking about these moments… Scott & Katelyn, congratulations and promise me you’ll hang these on the walls until you’re 80 so you’ll never forget how fun it is to be newly engaged :)

Hannah & Patrick {Rockford, IL – Milwaukee, WI Engagement Photographer}

October 4th, 2011

Hannah & Patrick live in the cutest little community north of Milwaukee – it has quaint little storefronts, pretty houses and brick sidewalks… and it looks like it could be the perfect setting for a romantic comedy. Let’s just cast Hannah and Patrick for this movie right off the bat, because not only do they [...]

Let’s just cast Hannah and Patrick for this movie right off the bat, because not only do they have awesome chemistry together, but they seriously know how to work the camera! I can’t wait for their wedding next summer!

John & Beth {Rockford, IL Engagement Photographer}

September 1st, 2011

John & Beth are much cooler than me, I have to say. I didn’t even know the Carlyle Brewing Co. existed until I met them and we decided to do part of their engagement session there. It is one of their favorite places (among many) and it provided the perfect backdrop! We walked around Rockford afterward, and [...]

Jenny & Steve | Engaged {Milwaukee, Wi Engagement Photographer}

August 7th, 2011

I met Jennifer almost 9 years ago in one of my freshman gen ed courses at UW-Whitewater. We became fast friends and if there is one thing I remember about her in college is that she always had a camera with her. Jenny is the one who introduced me to the digital SLR and I [...]

I met Jennifer almost 9 years ago in one of my freshman gen ed courses at UW-Whitewater. We became fast friends and if there is one thing I remember about her in college is that she always had a camera with her. Jenny is the one who introduced me to the digital SLR and I “blame” her for me getting bit by the photography bug. I loved playing with her Canon Rebel whenever it wasn’t glued to her hand. A few years later, when I got engaged to my husband, Jennifer took our engagement photos. So needless to say when she announced her engagement to Stephen recently, I insisted I return the favor.

I drove white knuckled through downtown Milwaukee to meet her and Steve last night. They were nice enough to chauffeur me around the city. We went to the Iron Horse hotel and then a beautiful bay at sunset.  What a perfect setting for engagement photos!

Andy & Jen | Engaged! {Dekalb, IL Engagement Photographer}

June 29th, 2011

Andy is my husband’s brother, so of course I had to insist on doing his engagement session with his super sweet fiance, Jen. We went to the NIU campus, where they met and also where they plan to get married next summer! I think the fact that we were related made for a lot of [...]

We went to the NIU campus, where they met and also where they plan to get married next summer! I think the fact that we were related made for a lot of laughs; it was hard for us to be serious, but I love the results. They are a really cute couple and I am excited to welcome Jen into the family!

Danielle & Gustavo {Rockford, IL Engagement Photographer}

May 11th, 2011

These are not Danielle & Gustavo’s official engagement photos (you can see those here), rather this was more of a styled shoot that I dreamed up and they agreed to play along.  I envisioned a dreamy picnic in the park just after sunset, when the light is soft and glowy. Danielle & Gustavo wore light colors with sophisticated lines, as I requested… and they looked stunning! Wine glasses, white zin and a picnic basket all set on a whimsical blanket set the tone, but their interaction is what makes these so cute. I can’t wait for their wedding in August!

Jacob & Kylie | Engaged {Lake Geneva, WI Engagement Photographer}

March 21st, 2011

This past Saturday was one of the nicest days we’ve had in the area yet, and the timing could not have been more perfect. I met Jacob and Kylie in Lake Geneva, WI for a destination engagement session that would turn out to be one of my favorites, ever! They are so cute together. They [...]

I met Jacob and Kylie in Lake Geneva, WI for a destination engagement session that would turn out to be one of my favorites, ever! They are so cute together. They hardly needed any direction from me, and as you’ll see, their love for each other is so evident in the way they interact with one another. I am so excited for their wedding this summer! Normally I don’t blog *everything* but I couldn’t resist this time.

Also, I have to insist that you listen to this song while viewing their pictures… I listened to it on repeat while editing and I love it! Hit play and scroll down. Enjoy!

I Heart Faces {Orange}

November 8th, 2010

The theme for this weeks’ photo challenge on I Heart Faces is “orange.” Instantly I thought of this photo that I took of Gustavo and Danielle during their engagement session. They were posed next to the sculpture ‘The Calling’ by Di Suvero. It was huge… and very, very orange! I love this photo because they [...]

Gustavo & Danielle {Milwaukee, WI}

I love this photo because they are both so intense. This was taken early in the morning right downtown Milwaukee, just walking distance from the art museum.
