I had a really, really hard time picking favorites to preview for this session. I just love photographing kids and families at their homes; it is so much fun!
I am obsessed with photo albums. There’s nothing better than seeing your family photos practically coming alive on the thick pages of a lustrous photo album. I love mixing up the pages with full page spreads and collages, picking out a cover material that matches the images or my decor, and just the weight of it. It just really adds to the whole experience of looking through all the photos and I find myself coming back to these books much more often than I would have pulled the photos up on my phone or computer.
I recently designed this album for the “K” family and I thought it would be cool to share some of my favorite spreads from their book so you can see how playing around with different layouts adds to the overall presentation. This is for a 6×9 album, so when the book is open, each spread (as shown below) is actually a 12×9″ print with rounded corners. (The thin border represents the page’s edge.)
I loved getting to meet baby Lennox yesterday and pull out some pretty spring colors and flowers for her session. I have so many favorites from this shoot, it was hard to pick!
I had so much fun with this little gal for her first birthday shoot this weekend. She even tried to feed me some of her smash cake. What a sweetheart!
There are a few things that get me through the midwest winters: hot chocolate, seat warmers, stores bringing out their spring stuff already (this too shall pass, right?)…. and looking at photos I took last summer. May the warmth of the sunshine in these photos thaw the chill in your bones and remind you that winter does not last forever. 🙂
